Cooking Instructions
Wash Beans. Empty contents of seasoning pouch and the cleaned beans into a large pot with 9 cups of water. Bring to rolling boil. Remove from heat and let soak for about 1 hour. Brown 1 lb cubed smoked sausage or ham and add to beans with 2 BAYOU MAGIC BAY LEAVES. Bring to rolling boil then reduce to medium low heat. Cook Covered until beans are tender (about 2 hours). For different flavor, substitute 1 lb browned LEAN ground meat instead of smoked sausage or ham. Remove bay leaves. Serve over steamed rice or noodles. !!!! TALK ABOUT GOOD !!!! Great news: For 1/2 recipe, adjust 1/2 of all ingredients in above directions. For those who like a milder flavor, adjust seasoning to taste.
