Bayou Magic Cajun Blackeye Peas
Cooking Instructions:
Lightly brown (Don't overcook) 1/8 lb. Pork Jowl (1/8 lb. Salt Pork or 4 Slices of Bacon can be substituted). Sort and wash Peas. Empty contents of seasoning pouch and the cleaned peas into a large pot with the meat and 7 cups of water. Add 2 BAYOU MAGIC BAY LEAVES. Bring to rolling boil. Reduce to medium heat. Cook Covered until tender (about 2 hours). Remove bay leaves. Serve over steamed rice or with corn bread. For 1/2 recipe, adjust 1/2 of all ingredients in above directions. For those who like a milder
flavor, adjust seasoning to taste.
